Loy Krathong Day is an ancient Thai tradition that falls on the full moon of the 12th lunar month. People create and float beautifully decorated “krathongs” on the water as an act of worship to the Buddha’s footprint and to pay respect and seek forgiveness from the Goddess of the River (Phra Mae Khongkha) for any wrongdoings or harm caused to the waters.
