Check for water leaks in your car during the rainy season!

Another common issue that can occur during the rainy season is “water leaking into the car.” This is especially a concern when driving through heavy rain or areas with flooded roads, as water can easily leak into your car. But did you know that there are ways to prevent water from seeping into your car and causing damage?

What causes water to leak into the car during the rainy season?

▶ Worn Door Seal Rubber
This is often found in cars older than 10 years. You can easily check it by listening for wind noise inside the car while driving, which could indicate worn seals. It’s best to replace the rubber seal immediately.

▶ Damaged Sealant Joints
Sealants are used to keep water and wind out of the car. If they degrade, you may notice wet spots, musty smells, or wind noises. It’s essential to fix this by resealing the areas or having a technician inspect and seal them properly.

▶ Cracked Wheel Arch Plastic
Driving through water or rain can cause your footwell to get wet if the wheel arch plastic is cracked or leaking. You should have your car repaired as soon as possible.

▶ Blocked Sunroof Drainage Channels
Blocked drainage channels can cause water to accumulate and leak into the cabin. It’s important to regularly check and clean the drainage pipes to prevent damage and unpleasant odors inside the car.

▶ Missing Rubber Plugs Under the Car
Rubber plugs under the car prevent water from entering when driving through flooded areas. If any plugs are missing or loose, water can seep into the car.

Before you set off on any journey, don’t forget to check your car’s condition to prevent water leakage during the rainy season. Keeping your car in good condition will help ensure it stays like new and safe for all your travels.
