4 Ways to Inflate Your Tires During Winter

During winter, it’s important to inflate your tires correctly to maintain safety and tire performance:

  1. Inflate the tires while they are still cold because the pressure reading will be most accurate and not affected by heat from driving.
  2. Increase the tire pressure slightly since lower temperatures can reduce tire pressure more than usual.
  3. Check the recommended tire pressure from your car or tire manufacturer and adjust it to the proper level.
  4. Avoid overinflating the tires, as this makes them too stiff, reduces road grip, and causes faster wear in the center of the tread.

⚠ Precautions

Overinflated tires – Cause accelerated wear in the center of the tread and make the vehicle more prone to slipping and harder to control.

Underinflated tires – Cause faster wear on the tire shoulders, make steering more difficult, and reduce stability and road grip.
