During winter, it’s important to inflate your tires correctly to maintain safety and tire performance:
- Inflate the tires while they are still cold because the pressure reading will be most accurate and not affected by heat from driving.
- Increase the tire pressure slightly since lower temperatures can reduce tire pressure more than usual.
- Check the recommended tire pressure from your car or tire manufacturer and adjust it to the proper level.
- Avoid overinflating the tires, as this makes them too stiff, reduces road grip, and causes faster wear in the center of the tread.
⚠ Precautions
⛔ Overinflated tires – Cause accelerated wear in the center of the tread and make the vehicle more prone to slipping and harder to control.
⛔ Underinflated tires – Cause faster wear on the tire shoulders, make steering more difficult, and reduce stability and road grip.
