During the rainy season, it’s often unpredictable whether the rain will be heavy or light, and visibility can quickly deteriorate without you realizing it. Driving in the rain is a challenge many people face, whether it’s rain splashing on the windshield, glare from wet roads, or the gloomy sky.
Many of you may have come across advice online saying, “Wearing sunglasses while it’s raining will help you see more clearly.” But is this really true?
Some types of eyewear, especially those specifically designed for driving, can indeed improve visibility in difficult lighting conditions. They reduce glare and scattered light, making your vision sharper. This is particularly true when using special lenses called polarized lenses, which filter out reflections and provide clearer vision on shiny surfaces.
However, sunglasses should only be worn in the morning or daytime. They should never be used at night while driving, as this could be dangerous!
