Part 2: Central Laos

After exploring the attractions in Southern Laos, such as the Bolaven Plateau and Si Phan Don, we travel north to Central Laos, passing through the town of Savannakhet, a charming riverside city on the Mekong River with beautiful colonial architecture. We then continue on to the capital city, Vientiane, which serves as the cultural and historical hub of Laos.

Savannakhet
Heading north from Southern Laos, we arrive in Savannakhet, a charming town along the Mekong River, known for its colonial architecture. Here, you can visit the religiously significant That Ing Hang Stupa, one of the important landmarks of Laos. There’s also the Dinosaur Museum, which houses a collection of dinosaur fossils discovered in the region.

Vientiane
From Savannakhet, we head towards the capital city of Vientiane, a place rich in historical monuments and important temples, such as That Luang and the Patuxai (Victory Gate). You can also take a leisurely stroll along the Mekong River in the evening to experience the city’s blend of modernity and traditional culture.
