Driving Down Long Descents? Don’t Ride the Brakes!

🚗 Driving Down Long Descents? Don’t Ride the Brakes!

When driving downhill for an extended period, keeping your foot on the brake for too long can cause excessive heat buildup, which may reduce braking performance. 😰

✅ Use a lower gear or the vehicle’s available speed-control or engine-braking system.
✅ Control your speed from the beginning instead of accelerating and then braking repeatedly.
✅ Apply the brakes in intervals as appropriate for the road and driving conditions.
✅ Check your brakes before traveling, especially before trips involving steep uphill and downhill roads.

Drive safely, stay alert on every journey, and always make sure your vehicle is ready before setting off. 💙
