The correct way to jump-start a battery

Friends, sometimes some of you may leave the car lights on, which could lead to a drained car battery. However, a more serious problem is that many of you are not aware of the correct way to jump-start a car battery. So, I would like to provide a proper guide on how to jump-start a car battery:

1. Take the red jumper cable’s (+) clamp and connect it to the positive (+) terminal of the dead car’s battery.

2. Take the other end of the red jumper cable (+) clamp and connect it to the positive (+) terminal of the fully charged car’s battery.

3. Take the black jumper cable’s (-) clamp and connect it to the negative (-) terminal of the fully charged car’s battery.

4. Take the other end of the black jumper cable (-) clamp and connect it to an unpainted metal surface of the dead car, like a bolt near the engine, for example.

5. Start the engine of the fully charged car and let it run for about 15 – 20 minutes.

6. Start the engine of the dead car and rev the engine a bit to ensure it doesn’t stall.

7. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order: 4-3-2-1.

Remember to follow these steps carefully to avoid any accidents and ensure a safe and successful jump-start of the car battery.
